Lisa Martinez, M.D., FACP, serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Integrated Medical Science and co-director for Foundations of Medicine at FAU's SChmidt College of Medicine. Dr. Martinez received her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UMMSM) in 2007. She conducted her residency training in internal medicine in the primary care program at the University of Virginia, where she served as chief resident from 2010 to 2011.
Prior to joining FAU in 2014, Dr. Martinez served as an assistant professor of clinical medicine in the Department of Medicine at UMMSM, as the founding program director of the internal medicine program of the University of Miami at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, and as the associate clerkship director of the integrated medical clerkship at Holy Cross Hospital. In 2016, she received a fellowship from the American College of Physicians (ACP).
Dr. Martinez has numerous awards and honors to her credit including, "Hispanic Women of Distinction," the George Paff Teaching Award, Internal Medicine Preceptor from UMMSM, and the Anne L. Brodie Resident Clinician Award for Excellence in Primary Care from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
